Makes Sense

For those of you who read my previous post, I now realize why I was so on edge.  Mother Nature stopped by last night for a little visit and left me a package wrapped in shiny red paper.  She's such a doll, isn't she?
I made today, what I feel like, was a good and healthy decision.  It really is amazing how much better I felt when I decided to just let some things go.  If I hadn't been cramping so bad, I probably would have skipped and danced around, that's how good I felt.
So I'm hoping that as the week goes on, things will continue to go well.  I'll keep you all informed.

Really?

Ever since I settled into my apartment, things were going great.  I should have known though that moving several states away wouldn't change the pattern my life seems to love throwing at me.  You know what pattern I'm talking about.  The one where it goes, "super great, not good, ok, frustrating, nice, irritating, still irritated, getting more irritated, melt down".  I'm not really sure where I am currently at in the pattern, but I can tell you where it all started.
My stove wasn't working!  I go to use it for the first time, and it won't turn on.  What started off as a nice relaxing day turned into one of frustration.  Not being able to fix my dinner brought on all the other things that I really do not like about this apartment complex. 1.)  While signing the lease the woman informed us that we probably wouldn't get any of the refundable deposit back because they hire a "professional" cleaning crew to come in and clean the apartment after we move out.  They have to do it.  2.)  While inspecting the apartment before moving all our stuff in guess what we find?  TRASH!  Professional cleaning crew my eye.  They also couldn't hook up the stove apparently.  3.)  The people who live across from me leave their diapers in front of their door which stinks up the entire stair well.  4.)  Some of the people who live here are just straight up crazy.  Crazy enough that we have had several police officers come by to check things out.
After that, I had the glorious opportunity of having to call and set up our Internet.  The first person who I talked to could not hear very well.  When telling her what city I lived in she asked me, "Oran?  Is that in Afghanistan?!"  I don't know if she was thinking Iran, but even I who failed geography know that Iran is not in Afghanistan, it's another country.  To make a long story short, while talking to her I got disconnected.  Called back, got disconnected again.  Called a third time and was finally able to order my freaking Internet modem.
Yesterday, the modem finally came and it was a glorious day.  The prospect of Netflix and being able to get a better Pinterest connection on my phone kept my spirits lifted throughout the day.  However, while doing an installing thing on the computer, the process froze and then skipped several steps.  Somehow my computer connected wirelessly, but my roommate's wouldn't.  So I got to call the Internet place again today and fix everything.  What basically ended up happening was me calling them several times today trying to get things straightened out.
I am happy to report though, that my apartment finally has Internet.  I'm currently at the end of my rope and ready to scream into a pillow.
Oh, and boys are stupid.
Amen.

The Joys of Moving

This past Saturday I was able to start moving into my apartment.  I was super excited, until I started signing the lease.  After writing down my signature for, oh I don't know, the thousandth time, the thought hit me, "Crap, I'm an adult now."  It was an interesting experience walking into the apartment and realizing that I would now be living there and doing adult things.  Several thoughts made me realize even more how much I was actually growing up.
For example, while looking at the kitchen it dawned on me just how much I would have to do for myself in there:  wash dishes, cook food, etc.  The kitchen also contained the washer and dryer hookups.  I looked at those in horror.  Then the worst realization of all punched me in the gut... I have to go grocery shopping for myself now.  I'm a pro with shopping at the mall.  The grocery store, not so much. So, it was with a bitter sweet feeling in my heart that I lugged all my stuff up several flights of stairs to my apartment.
The whole entire day was long and exhausting.  My mom and I went to Ikea to get me a bed frame and discovered a little while later that all of the pieces weren't there...  After that, I decided the day had gone on long enough and that we were done.
What I have learned from all of this is that I have been spoiled and that reality is going to be starting pretty soon.  Am I ready for it?  Well, we're just going to have to find out.

Finally!

I have finally found an apartment! Not only have I found an apartment, I have two roommates as well. Both of the girls seem really sweet, so I think things will work out there. I feel like I can finally start to relax!:)
